Figure Modelling

When engaged in portrait and life modelling, we learn to observe closely, and to implement what has been observed. We become familiar with the proportions and expressions of the human body. In the course ‘Making a hollow clay sculpture of a human figure’, we work freely and without a model. Thus the practical questions, the posture of the figure and its facial expression are all the more important.

Modelling & Plaster

Being actively involved in modelling and plaster casting helps to stimulate the powers of imagination. Clay and plaster, two malleable materials, can be quickly manipulated into the desired shapes. Whether we choose the positive or negative casting process, or the solid modelling technique with plaster, it is bound to be a lot of fun.

Metalwork Courses

Metal is another classic material which we enjoy using in our courses. Welding techniques can easily be learnt with the appropriate tools. The forging and hardening of tools gives much pleasure, and metal casting can be a lot of fun.

Silicon Casting

Silicon casting is not recommended for beginners. Experience in modelling and plaster casting is required. Many copies of our original sculptures can be created with the silicon mould. The exactness of the copy is amazing and gives great satisfaction.
