Nick Micros
Freelance sculptor with own studio in Ottenbach. Has been a tutor at the Scuola di Scultura since 2002.
Sculptor. Born 1960 in New York.
In 1982 he received the Bachelors Degree in Fine Arts Major from the Gettysburg College in the USA.
He studied sculpting in stone in Florenz, Italy, and in the 1980s he worked as an assistant with the American artists, M. Puryear and L. Bourgeois.
He was an adviser and conservationist for important historic restoration projects in the USA. Since 1985 he also has a Studio in New York, and his sculptures have already been exhibited on numerous occasions in the USA and Europe. In 1999 Nick Micros received the "Pollack-Krasner" prize. In 2005 received also the J.S.Guggenheim Fellowship in NY.
2007 and 2008 Canton of Zurich Individual Artist's Grant.
